Emerson Chambers is an extraordinary Art Nouveau gem in the centre of Newcastle. Its conversion into a bookstore and offices was carried out in conjunction with essential repairs, the restoration of lost Edwardian shopfronts, and the preservation of many original features including basement, ground and first floor ceilings, a cupola at the main entrance, the main staircase and lift, and all of the individual perimeter offices and rooms overlooking the city on the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh floors. We had the privilege of working with Geoffrey Jarvis FRIAS on this project.
